Isabel was born in the mainland of Australia in Melbourne. Her father was Australian, and her mother Swiss. Her family was located in Cairns, Australian. They resided in Cairns Australia. Along with her sister Nina Isabel, she attended schools in which First Nations and other children of different cultures were included. Isabel lives currently in Byron Bay NSW Australia. Isabel had been involved in the drama field since she was in school. She then studied Drama at the Queensland University of Technology (Victorian College of Arts) and more recently, Perdekamp's Emotional Method PEM. Prior to 2002, she had never ever auditioned. The audition was for a role in Home and Away, 1988. The producers felt she wasn't right for the part however they were pleasantly surprised and created a new role for her Tasha. She starred for 3 years as her first television role and was awarded an Logie Award for new popular artist for her performance. Isabel moved from the city of London in 2008 to Los Angeles in 2008. It was the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen the year 2009 marked her debut major role. In the years since, Isabel has starred and won awards in numerous US film and television productions, as well as Australian ones. Isabel is currently in Bosh & Rockit Ocean Boy, a movie that's fast becoming a major hit in Australia. She also acted in the coming thriller Lunacy. Isabel has recently completed Sons of Summer.
